Nancy Murphy at Jazz Alley

I’ve always thought Nancy Murphy was one of the coolest people on the planet, but when she  told me that her organization’s annual event was being held at Jazz Alley she was suddenly elevated to near god like status in my mind. Jazz Alley is to musicians what  St Peters in Rome might be to a devout Catholics. Jazz Alley is sacred ground because many of the musicians who have influenced me have played there. People like Miles Davis, Oscar Peterson, Bobby Blue Boy Bland and many more. For crying out loud the world famous Jazz Crusaders are playing there the night before our gig.

The show/event is October 24th – a Monday night and it only costs $35 to get in

Nancy asked me to help produce this”friendraiser”. I asked a couple of local bands Soul Jelly and The Jessica Ketola band (check out her connection to Sting). Along with  Jazz Alley’s owner John Dimitrio these groups are donating their time and creativity because they believe in the causes Nancy has devoted her life to.

I’m planning on singing a few tunes myself.

Hope to see you there.

  1. When I originally left a comment I seem to have clicked on the -Notify me when
new comments are added- checkbox and now whenever a comment is added I get four emails with
the exact same comment. Perhaps there is an easy method you can remove me from that service?
